Progress Report Feb 2009

I asked you last month to beat the (virtual) crap out of me if I hadn’t made an improvement on last month’s efforts.

I’m glad to say I can live to fight another day because  my earnings for Feb were $158 up from $132 in Jan.

What was responsible for the increase?

I don’t know why I typed that heading because now I have to tell you that I didn’t actually change anything. Not a thing.

I sat on my behind and more money just made it’s way to me. How sweet is that? Not much of a lesson though is there?

What was responsible for the articles success I think is quite simple, it was an honest review of a product that I have actually used and enjoyed. Affiliate marketing is a brilliant business model but it also allows, even encourages people to lie through their teeth in order to get the reader to buy.

I’d really prefer to be honest and over time maybe earn some people’s trust than screw them for a few $$/€€.

I’m a customer on the internet as well.  I read reviews and buy things based on the recommendations of others. I know I don’t want to be lied to or cheated and I’m going to assume that noone else does either.

Goals for the month ahead

I’m creating another new site which will be a companion site to this one. In the last few months I’ve had people ask me for advice about affiliate marketing ( I know! I was surpried too! ) so I had an idea for a site that really helps beginners.

I can’t wait to get it up and running as it’s something that I wish was there when I started. It’ll be called Earning*****.com and I’m going to outsource the development to a cool company in Chicago that I’ve used twice already. I intend to submit the design document to them this week and let them get to work.

For myself I’m going to be beavering away on the business project that’s related to my day job. If I have any time left after that I’ll start adding content that I will be able to drop in to the new site when it launches.

That should keep me going for the next few weeks
