Why on earth would that ever happen?

Well it turns out that people enjoyed the review I did of Wealthy Affiliate and wanted some advice from someone who had at least been a member and is actually making some money from Internet Marketing.

Òne of the people that emailed me asked me if I knew any blogs, forums or sites that had good information on affiliate marketing. Well of course there were!

Everything I know about Internet Marketing I learnt from websites.

There’s … ummm, that one isn’t around any more. That’s a paid service now. The old friendly members aren’t really around any more on that one. That might be too advanced for a beginner etc.

When I got down to thinking about it, the best source of information was the wealthy affiliate forum. And what I’d spent my time doing before that was soaking up information from tons of different sites and articles. There isn’t 1 place to go and learn about this. There are so many methods and variations that I can see exactly how overwhelming it all was.

I thought that because I could do a little programming in php that this would be easy, but there’s a lot of other skills to learn before you actually start earning money and advice that’s perfect for me might not help another person at all.

Another person that emailed me asked: what exactly does an Internet Marketer do all day? I had never even thought of asking such a straightforward question when I started, I floundered for months trying to figure out the terms used in this industry. It wasn’t until months later I had the big picture in my head and knew what I was going to have to do.

I installed wordpress for a friend of mine recently and he said that he hadn’t a clue what I was doing during the process. I’ve done it lots of times and it’s simple for me now.
Then he proceed to show me how he researches a product and he danced between dozens of sites I’d never heard of before faster than I could take notes. Turns out he already had made some notes, documenting as he went and I’ve been able to use the wealth of sites and sources that he spent months finding.

I was surprised to see how much I knew ( and how much I still don’t )

Don’t forget how much you can teach other people as well.

I’m learning to drive at the moment and I’m amazed at how much people take this skill for granted.
It’s going to take me a few months yet before I’m any way confident behind the wheel.

Always learning, always teaching should be the way we approach things. I’ll forever be a newbie at some of this.
